The fourth round of the 2010 Scottish Comp Safari Championship will see us return to the popular Forrest Estate in the Galloway Hills! With many thanks to Brian Hilditch and his team, we have a fantastic event taking place in his  front garden at Forrest Estate, near St John's Town of Dalry on Sunday 20th June
Building on our previous experience at this venue we can look forward to a 7 mile lap using a variety of terrain across fields, hillside and fast forest tracks!
This is not an event to be missed and hugely popular with racers from all over the country, so please let us know if you are attending as entries are limited to 30 vehicles.

The set up will take place on Saturday 19th June from 11.00am and camping is available on site from Friday, in the new large level hard standing service area. Please bring everything with you, including water! Strictly no barbeque's or fires allowed, this is a high fire risk time on the estate and we won't get back if we burn it down!

Times:
Sunday 20th June - Scrutineering 8:30-9:30. Marshals in place by 9:45, drivers briefing 09:45, drive round lap 10:00 and first lap at 10:30.
Entry fee £40.00 and the all important prize for the marshals draw!

Directions:
From the north - head down the M77 / A77 to Ayr then onto the A713 for 20 miles, entrance to the estate is on the right, it's signposted FORREST ESTATE and will be marked with orange arrows from the A713 then it is a single track road for 3 miles and follow orange arrows into service area. (about 1hr 20mins from Glasgow)
From the south - M6 / M74 exit at Lockerbie and head west on the A709 to Dumfries then A75 to Castle Douglas and north on the A713. Estate entrance on the left 2 miles after St Johns Town of Dalry.

For further information please call Ian Stuart on 07811 378826 or Alan Agnew on 07774 843473
7 miles of lap means we need more Marshals, if you can be a real help and bring a marshal to this event (go on, talk someone into it, they get a great view of the action!!!!) please call Colin Rodger on 07767 726075

Hi Everyone,

We again need your help with this one, the site has been proven popular with competitors all round the uk. This event will certainly be one of the highlights of the 2010 Scottish Cross Country Championship.

We need instage marshals, radio marshals, a start and finish crew. So if you can help give me a shout colin.rodger@virgin.net or 07767-726075

Remember as well the best way to see the action is to be a signed on marshal  Smiley

The latest news this morning is that this event looks set to have the biggest entry of the SCCC so far, possibly even of the season. So we really do need your help to run another great round of the Scottish Cross Country Championship.

Thanks for all the volunteers so far, although we do still need more help. Was down at Forrest Estate at the weekend and the new service area is looking very good, the course is looking in great condition as well.

Just back from the BCCC round.... we're definitely going to have the better course Smiley

As Colin says - there's a large service area (though 37 BCCC Competitors pretty much fill it!), and the stop line pops right into the service area Smiley

There are loos on site, and a nice social area in Brian's new tent (unless he snaffles it back for servicing in :chuckle: )

Well with the course set, the competitors are lining up for a great days motorsport on this 6mile course. The midges have had their fill on the BCCC troops at the weekend so will be dieting at the weekend, so no excuse really for not coming and enjoying a great day's motorsport.

Got thirteen posts and a start/finish to cover so really would appreciate more help on this one. If you can come and help please let me know colin.rodger@virgin.net or mobile 07767-726075.

Regards, Colin.

Ps. if you have emailed me and not had a reply, I have had a lack of Internet and might have missed it, normal service has been resumed  Cheesy

A quick reminder that there is no need to be up early making a packed lunch for the event, GUSTO Catering will be with us once again with their varied and delicious range of hot and cold food!

Please take advantage of this fabulous on site service and they will keep coming back to support our events!

Suspect with the number of entries likely that we won't get a lunch break to make use of it?

May still need emergency supplies (packet of Hob Nobs).  Grin

Well we had a great day's motor sport, the weather was extremely good, biggest entry of the Championship this year. The midges as promised were full from eating our English friends last week and they generally stayed away, or was it the breeze - not sure but either way they stayed away.

Hard course on the cars today with a few suffering early on and some trying a little too hard at times. No major problems and the day finished with everyone having had another good day at the Forrest Lodge Estate.

Big thank you to all the Marshals that came and helped to run another great round of the Scottish Cross Country Championship.

Regards, Colin.
