Assembling the history of any organisation on-going for 50 years will take some time. The following articles will perhaps serve to give a flavour of the Club origins and spirit. As new material becomes available this will be added.

This article, kindly donated by Michael Bruce, gives a brief outline of the first 30 years of SLROC. It begins with the minutes of a meeting in the Tinto Hotel, Lanark, on 12th October 1958. The first 30 years.
Michael has written about his introduction to the Club and various goings-on in his life. Michael Bruce - my introduction to SLROC.
On 7th June 1963, a team consisting entirely of members of the Scottish Land-Rover Owners' Club assembled at Fort William with three Land-Rovers in an attempt to drive to the summit of the UK's highest mountain - Ben Nevis. Did they make it? Read this article for the answer. (Just imagine the screams and yells from the Tree Huggers if we suggested doing this today! Yet the Ben has survived).

Ben Nevis.

The worthy team.
